FAQ

How do I book a newborn shoot?

The best time to secure a slot with me for a newborn shoot is when you are around 12 weeks pregnant. I make a note of your due date in my diary once the deposit is received. Then when the baby is born, if you or a relative can let me know as soon as possible so we can get the baby to the studio within that ideal two week timescale.

What do we need to bring with us?

The baby! The most important person of all! Otherwise bring plenty of feeds (if you are bottle feeding), nappies, wet wipes and a dummy if you're giving one.

Can family come and watch the shoot?

As my studio is only a small cabin, I am limited to how many people can occupy the studio at one time. I therefore advise a maximum of 5 people to attend the shoot.

Can we bring outfit changes?

Yes, I am happy for outfits to be changed as many times as the child/ren are happy to do so. I don't however have a designated changing area.

Can we bring our own props or items for the shoot?

Yes I am happy to accommodate any personal items you'd like to include in the shoot. But please discuss these with me before coming in case I need to change or add to the set in some way.

How long is a shoot?

Various shoots vary in length. Newborn shoots take the longest usually and depends on how much the baby sleeps, feeds and toilets! An average shoot otherwise tends to last about an hour to an hour and a half.

How long until I get to see my images?

Depending on the time of year, I usually take 2-3 weeks to edit and turn round a gallery. Please be patient and only contact me to ask about your gallery if absolutely necessary.

Can I use my images on my social media?

I am happy for any of your images to be used on social media as long as they are not altered in any way and my watermark remains intact (if you haven't purchased the digital copy).

Do we have to come back to view the images?

No I put all of your final edited images into a private password protected gallery for you to look at at your leisure. If however you do want to discuss anything relating to your gallery I am happy to meet in person or have a telephone/email conversation.

Do we get all of the images on USB?

Not unless you purchase the digital copies no. There are no complimentary products with the session fee.

Can we choose our setup?

I am happy for you to have as much creative input as you would like. I am limited with space and choice of backdrops but I do try and accommodate special requests as much as I can.

How do we cancel a shoot?

I can be contacted via telephone, email or social media to cancel a shoot. If it is due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness, the shoot will be rescheduled to a convenient date. If you wish to cancel altogether the deposit will not be refunded.

What should we wear/dress our child/ren in?

Neutral tones are usually advisable and coordinated colours. Avoid heavy patterns and logos. Please also bear in mind things like visible bra straps, dirty socks or shoes and unruly collars. These are things I am not able to edit without considerable work for an extra charge.

Can my images remain private?

Of course! Should you want me to keep your images permanently private and not use them for advertising and social media, please let me know in writing before or immediately after she shoot.

How long will my images be available to buy?

When your online gallery is sent out, you will have one month to place an initial order. If an order is made within that time, the gallery will remain open for a full six months. If no order is made within that month though, the gallery will temporarily close and a £5 will be incurred to reopen it. All galleries will be permanently deleted after six months.

Do we get to see all the images you take at our shoot?

No. As a professional photographer, it is down to me to select all of the best images to edit and send you as the final images. I can ensure you though that no useable images are culled.

Do you have precautions in place due to Covid 19?

Yes I have a hand sanitising station outside the studio for all clients to use, shoes must be removed before coming in and face masks must be worn by all adults.

How do I make payment?

Deposits are required to secure the slot or date of your shoot. This can be paid via Paypal or bank transfer. The remainder of the fee is due on the day of the shoot or before. This can be paid in cash, by transfer (if before the shoot) or by card as I have a card machine at the studio.
